Pay & Major Change for LAs Working in Central
Functions
Branches were advised in LTB 640/2006 that the Union had reached an agreement for Pay & Major Change for our LA members who work in Central Functions.
The agreement stated that there would be a consolidation payment to our members of £28.08
per week, totalling £122.08 per month, which would be paid once a headcount reduction target of six full time equivalents
was achieved in these work areas.
I can now confirm that the headcount reduction target was met on 2nd December
2006. Therefore, a pro-rata payment of £65.72 (in addition to the £54.17 supplement
per month) will be paid to all relevant members for the period when the headcount reduction target had been achieved. This payment, which is non-pensionable, will be paid in the December salaries.
Full consolidation of this supplement will commence for the first complete month of
payment, in January 2007. This means that from 1st January 2007, £122.08
will be consolidated in basic pay and as a consequence the pay supplement (£54.17) will cease from that date.
The members affected by the above payment include LAs in Procurement, Finance, Property
Holdings, P&OD, Security, Secretariat, Legal Services, Group Corporate and Government Affairs, Technology. This agreement does not apply for any LAs in Central Functions who have already received a salary increase
from another Pay & Major change agreement.
Attached to this LTB is a copy of a Joint Statement confirming the headcount reduction
has been achieved. Can you please forward this good news on to our members who
are employed in these business units, as we are pleased to have been able to secure real benefits to the value of £1,464.96
per annum.
