Quadrant Pay Deal
Quadrant members have given their firm backing to a two-year pay deal that will substantially
increase basic pay.
The agreement includes a 3.6 per cent pay rise this year - which applies to all allowances
- increases to London Weighting and improvements to maternity leave. In April 2006 the pay rise will be 3 per cent or the
rate of inflation should it be higher at the time.
The result was as follows:
Votes in favour of the agreement - 251 (80%)
Votes against the agreement - 61 (20%)
Assistant secretary Terry Pullinger said: "I am very pleased our Quadrant
members have endorsed this agreement. We have ensured they will receive a significant pay increase this year and, given that
inflation is forecast to fall sharply over the coming months, they are set to receive the same next year.
"This agreement provides our members with real income security for the next two years.
The increase in maternity leave from 18 weeks to 26 weeks is also a very significant achievement and is part of the union's
determination to improve family friendly policies."
